Worship and Spiritual Growth
In the Middle School we have a set Worship time every day, with each day having a different format.
This gives the students variety in how they Worship and offers new experiences within different groups. Having students lead Worship is an important aspect of our program and gives them ownership of its format and content. An important aspect each day is singing contemporary Worship songs from a wide range of artists.
Occasionally we have the advantage of welcoming special guests to our Worship. This may include members of the Gideons’ Society, visiting Pastors and lay preachers or musical groups such as ‘endlesspraise’.
Whatever the format, Worship at the Faith Middle School is a positive and enriching experience.
Pastor Brenton Altmann's 2015 Faith Focus Report
The LORD has made His salvation known and revealed His righteousness to the nations. (Psalm 98:2 NIV)
At Faith, worship continues to be a central element of the weekly College program. Why is that important? Worship helps our community to grow by maintaining our focus on the Word of God and the Gospel of Jesus Christ as the Holy Spirit is at work among us. It also helps us to maintain our focus on the Christian values by which we endeavor to live, serve and thrive. As a Lutheran School, we continue to face the challenges of making the Word of God and in particular, the Gospel and worship meaningful and relevant for our students. The strong support from staff and students willing to share their faith and their insights with regard to the ways in which God has moved in their lives, has assisted in meeting some of these challenges in 2015.
Students and Worship
Each year, Worship Captains are appointed in both Middle School and Senior School. This year, the Middle school and Senior School Worship Captains were invited to take greater responsibility for the organization of our fortnightly Middle School Worship (Wednesday) and Senior School Worship (Tuesday). Working under the guidance of our Youth Ministry Coordinator, Sarah Day and in consultation with our College Pastor, our Worship Captains have done an amazing job presenting inspiring and meaningful Worship experiences. Our Loving God has truly blessed our Middle School and our Senior School through the fruit of our Worship Captains. They have led by example and have been wonderful role models for our College.
It has been a wonderful blessing to have the Auditorium in our Centre for the Creative Arts facility as a regular venue in which we can hold our Sub-school Worship. Thanks to our Graduating Year 9 Class of 2014 for their beautiful gift of an altar which has helped to enhance our worship experience in the Auditorium.
A number of special worship services highlighted our worship program for 2015. The year began with the new staff to Faith being installed at the College’s Opening Services (Middle & Senior School and Junior School).
Other highlights included our Anzac worship, Founders Day worship led by Mr Mueller, Remembrance Day worship, the Year 12 Graduation Service, the Farewell Service for our graduating Year 12 class and our Senior School and Middle School Closing Services.
A huge thank you is extended to all those who have contributed to the worship life of the College this year. Without the wonderful contributions from students and staff, including those who work behind the scenes, our worship life would lack the richness and depth with which we are currently blessed.
Ultimately, we give glory and thanks to our loving and gracious God who continues to bless us through His Word and the work of the Holy Spirit as we grow in the knowledge and love of our Lord Jesus Christ, strengthened through faith in Him.
