Transition to Secondary School

The transition to Secondary School program at Faith is unique and begins 12 months before students start Year 7. Its aim is to create a familiarity with the people and spaces that allow students to feel secure on their first day and confidently step into Year 7 and be ready to reach their potential right from the start.

It is made up of 4 distinct Transition Days where students get to experience different aspects of the Secondary School life and begin to build relationships with key members of the Secondary Team and other students at the College.

The 4 Transition Days are:

  1. Day 1 Arts Extravaganza (Term 1)
  2. Day 2 Science Inquiry Day (Term 2)
  3. Day 3 Technology Experience (Term 3)
  4. Day 4 Traditional Transition Day to meet the Year 7 teachers (Term 4)

All students and families are also invited to have an interview with the Head of Secondary and the Year 7 Co-ordinator. This is a vital part of the process as it provides the College with information about every student and also allows parents and students to ask any questions they may have. These occur during Semester One.

In 2020 our Transition was to start early but due to COVID-19 has been delayed. New dates for 2020 will be updated as soon as Government advise allows.
