Faith Lutheran College, Redlands is one of a network of over 80 schools and colleges run by the Lutheran Church throughout Australia. The Redlands Lutheran Parish established a Primary School in 1982.

Governance is through a College Council appointed by the Lutheran Church of Australia, Queensland District. The Principal is responsible to the College Council and is charged with the administration of College Policy and the day-to-day management of the College.

The Junior School campus of 3.22 hectares is on Link Road, Victoria Point and the Middle and Senior School Campus of 9.671 hectares (24 acres) on Beveridge Road, Thornlands some 1.8 kilometres away.

The College serves residents of the Redland City and  beyond.

The College prides itself in providing a high quality education with a Christian basis as part of a caring community. Students come from a variety of backgrounds.

In the Junior School six classroom blocks contain separate well-equipped rooms for each of the Year levels from Prep to Year 6, supplemented by facilities for Music, Sport and Performing Arts. The Junior School is very well resourced through the Information Services Centre (Library), provision of Information Technology with computer laboratories, IT equipment  in classrooms and class sets of tablet computers.

Stage 1 of the Beveridge Road Campus was completed in 2003. Since that initial project, facilities to cater for all aspects of a broad offering of curricular and extra-curricular activities have been completed.  Community facilities and partnerships enhance our Faith program.

The Junior School Campus grounds includes lovely shade trees, grassed play areas and multiple sets of playground equipment.

The SPAH  (Sports and Performing Arts Hall) was completed on the Link Road Campus and it is utilised by the whole College.

College Structure

Faith Lutheran College, Redlands is structured with the aim of providing a curricular and extra-curricular program that caters for each phase of development in the students. To cater for the age appropriate needs of students the basic structure of the College is:

Junior School (Prep Year to Year 6) commences 8:45am and finishes 3pm
Middle School (Year 7 - 9) commences 8:25am and finishes 3:15pm
Senior School (Year 10 – 12) commences 8:25am and finishes 3:15pm

Within each sub-school the program is further refined to cater for differences in student needs at the various levels of development.

As well as the formal learning program, the age appropriate nature of the College will be seen in terms of the physical environment, extra-curricular opportunities, student leadership opportunities, staffing, worship, school culture and rituals, and rites of passage through the College.

Life Long Qualities

Lutheran Education Australia has developed these qualities to describe the characteristics that schools, through their curriculum, aim to nurture within each student. Such qualities will well serve the student as he/she moves from the College either into another educational institution or into the wider community. They are qualities which will serve the person long after the detail of what was learnt has vanished or been superseded by newer understandings. These qualities are seen as essential characteristics for effective, positive life performances.
